"First part." to "Second part."

excel,

Since any "I don't understand what [gotmilk] wrote."
directed at gotmilk would only obtain "more of the same" :o)

so,
Second part.
(Message In Reply To:)
"nicotine wasn't what has people addicted to cigs..."
Still would like to hear why nicotine isn't the addictive part.
I hate cigs. If you have new info I'd be glad to hear it.
My wife is trying some other gimmick next week to quit.
Heck I just wish she'd go cold turkey...
But I'm not the one addicted so can't stand in her shoes.
So she will do it her way.[end.]

excel,

I'am not trying to double-talk or engage in a pee'n contest here,
but my words did not match what you spoke above about.

"nicotine isn't the addictive part."
This i did not say, but noted that while it exist, it is NOT the reason
why most all whom try to stop, and cannot, fail.

Note: The addiction angle is NOT the reason
folks find it almost impossible to quit smoking cigerattes.

While i agree that numbers/stats to identify the cause or reason
for success or failure would be misleading, i would like to detail
the reason i asked for that info.

I spoke about another factor seperate from the nicotine addiction
that is the controlling element to determine if a smoker stops or not.

By this i mean that you can 100% treat the nicotine addiction
using those methods of patches, gum or whatever is available
to insert into the blood stream onto the brain that chemical
which causes a nicotine addiction reaction to crave a cigeratte,
but if this other factor is present, its a losing battle plan.

Sometimes a simple answer can be rebuked as a non answer
by one who does not obtain a clean simple procedure of steps
that can be taken to realize the answer into a solution.

Ask your wife why she still smokes after the patch placed under
control the nicotine addiction such that the addiction was satisfied
until eventually the withdrawal went to zero. This assumes that the
addiction by nicotine is quite different that that of certain drugs that leave
an image or memory or something that always "calls out" for more
even when one passes the stages of stop using.

If you wish to continue this Q&A board off-topic, then please find
another board where issues like this can be discussed freely,
but i suggest that your wife answer that why i ask about first,
else
"My wife is trying some other gimmick next week to quit."
are a dime a dozen,
just so you pay others your cash
while you flush your time & hope down the drain.
