The war on Movies and Games is on, that's why I think CC despite not been amazed by the profits from the Pilot Program (from Nov 1st - Christmas time), took it's time making a decision on whether to continue with the Pilot program or go national.
With Vongo (Starz channel) providing Video on Demand (VOD) soon, the Video/Game rental market is going to heat up! HOT.
I think CC sees GNF as a potential, but has a long way to go in order to compete with the big boys. I'm sure and think someone adviced the decision makers for CC, that to hold on to GNF for 90 days longer, to see what happens!
Maybe and just maybe... CC is hoping that GNF can join up on the VOD soon, I think with Mail movies and games it will do okay as long as service and subscribers increase. However, the WAY TECHNOLOGY is going and more people having High speed Internet VOD is the way of the future.
CC is hoping this little GNF can shape up and Maybe Circuit City might have some plans of their own with GNF.
In the business world I would not keep you under my company if you are not successful, so maybe CC sees potential and did not want to cut the ties with GNF just yet.
