I'm not sure that's an advantage considering what AMD's general manager of server business said about using ARM: "It wins because it is lower cost. It takes the process of making a CPU down from three and a half years and $350m and $400m down to 18 months and $30m". The same probably applies if someone goes for the POWER8 at the high end though not quite so cheaply! I think they're in it for the long haul.
