He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.
Father God, we thank You for Your word. ******************************************
Most gracious and merciful God we cry out to You to forgive us for our sins and we ask that You would humble our hearts. May only Your truth be known and rule over the land. We long to see the dawning of Your light into this darkened world we live in. We pray for Your intervention in our struggle against evil.
We thank You that You are faithful in Your promises. We ask that You fill the hearts of all who don’t know You, so that these disputes among the nations might cease. We pray that the mighty anvil of Your truth will forge our weapons of destruction into tools of construction.
Come quickly Lord Jesus so that every knee might bow and every tongue might confess that You are King of Kings and Lord of Lords and are ruler of the heavens and the earth. We pray that our land might be healed as we profess our faith in You and the wounds You endured for our sins.
Our hearts are hurting. Our warriors are dying. We honor them and the blood that they have shed, yet we know in our souls their victories are temporary. Only Your blood, Lord Jesus, can deliver the everlasting victory that we seek. Only You can bring stillness to the battlefield.
Lord Jesus hear our prayers and deliver them to The Father, but also deliver them to the hearts of our warriors on foreign soil so they might be encouraged. We pray these things for this New Year. We lay these prayers before You through the authority You have given us. AMEN
