Re: Dereleviate- Whoa first things first.

>"Whoa! First things first. The Libertarian party is the third largest party. It represents far more than .000005% of the population. Equating Libertarianism with Nazi-ism greatly erodes my respect for any comments that follow. Libertarians are all about freedom, the Nazis were certainly not that. This is a ridiculous and offensive analogy. I think as a German I am disgusted, as a Jew I would be appalled. Where is this coming from? Somebody must have laced some bad $#!^ in your $#!^ or something."<

O.K. lets put the very first things first. First of all who would suffer the most under a libertarian administration. Ummmm, poor blacks and poor hispanics. If that isn't an attack on ethnicity, cloaked in a viel of liberty then what is? So it was wrong for hitler to attack the ethnic jews. But it's o.k. for libertarians to attack ethnic blacks and hispanics? You people promote wiping out the programs that support the very neediest becuse you have to pay taxes. Your answer to taxation is voluntary contributions to charities. Bullsh!t the people that really need the help would have a better chance of waiting on Santa Clause or the freaking tooth fairy. As a poor black or poor hispanic american I would be appalled at the level of self indulgent stinginess that exist within the ranks of the libertatian party. As my ethnic heritage reverts back to
Ireland I'm familiar with the history of oppression and how the wealthy turn liberty into tryanny. In case you missed it when I last posted it here's a quote from Bertrand Russel.

"Advocates of capitalism are very apt to appeal to the sacred principles of liberty, which are embodied in one maxim: The fortunate must not be restrained in the exercise of tyranny over the unfortunate."

>"As a wealthy person I should not have to bear any burden that is not shared by society as a whole, nor be brought to bear a disproportionate part of the load."<

And why not pray tell? The banking industries political action team and thier lawyers recieve a dissproportionate ammount of the wealth because they have the money and power to actually write the legislation that governs thier industry. The kind of freedom you speak of is the kind that will allow a bank to get four checks on the same day, three would have cleared but by processing the largest one first the other three bounce and we all know what kind of charges these little mishaps can lead to. The interest rates on some credit cards and revolving charge accounts ammounts to usury cloaked in a viel of free enterprise. Hell yeah the wealthy should pay more taxes, without the poor, uneducated, unsophisticated consumer to abuse, they would not have the money to write the laws in thier favor.

>"Liberty is the only thing you cannot have unless you are willing to give it to others."<

Stick it to others less fortunate than yourself would be more fitting.

>"Or do you like the burning Bush and his cronies? No, give me whore,uh, I mean Gore."<

Actually for the most part I think all politicians are pretty much a bunch of free loading control freaks, wrapped so tightly in thier own egos and bound so firmly to thier parties agenda that it gives them a mono maniacle vision which won't allow them to widen thier parameters.

I'll check out the link but I can tell you right up front I could never support an agenda that would do away with programs like headstart, healthcare for poor children, and social programs that would be the first to go if we didn't all pay taxes according to our income levels.
