It is interesting to see what happens when one speaks of freedom and liberty. So far I have been equated with Nazis and communists. I have to say that you have no substance to these claims. This is no way to debate a principle. You obviously missed the whole point of libertarianism.There is no proof that anyone would "suffer" under libertarianism. There is no reliable evidence that would suggest that a faithful application of libertarian principles would cause hardship for anyone. If you read the site carefully that should be apparent.
As for utopian ideals, isn't that what you espouse when you speak of the government helping anyone who is less fortunate or more colorful. Communism was an attempt at an utopian society, obviously that worked well. The democratic programs have damaged every part of our society from fostering dependence to perpetuating failure. Welfare, educational failure, environment, economic instability, is there any program that is run efficiently? Come on, find one.
Oh yeah, we do jail more people than any other land so I guess we are very efficient at taking freedom, ah yes, the land of the free! One program where our taxes are well spent!
Also, the minorities you propose to assist with your programs are no longer minorities in many areas. I am a minority in this region. This will only become more true as time progresses.
Also, many of the proponents of eliminating the social programs are former minorities who have been part of this system and see that it is not good for their people. It neither helps to better their situation nor gains them any respect with the society that has to pay the bill.
Furthermore, I have known many recipients of government assistance. Some were legitimately disabled, however most were not. You are also guilty of racial stereotyping. Of these able bodied leeches, virtually all of them were white. Some were black, but none of the ones I was acquainted with were mexican. These people come to expect and rely on the system with no desire to ever raise themselves above it. If they weren't forced out of the programs none of them would have ever stopped. In the meantime they trashed houses and apartments, didn't pay rents and bills and left huge debts behind every time they left, not before milking the system for as long as possible before eviction. Landlords I have worked for had as much as 10,000 in lost revenue and damage by people who never work for anything and therefore place no value on anything and possess no respect for the property of others.
You can not refute this because I have repeatedly witnessed it. Some of these slimeballs were even good friends at some point. Most people are happy to have a free ride and since they have never known better things they are content to let it ride. Caring for the less fortunate only perpetuates their misfortune. I can provide sociological, biological, psychological, anthropolgical and medical evidence of this.
And our social programs extend beyond our borders which is the most ridiculous waste of our taxes. Feeding poor and starving peoples extends their suffering since just one generation of poverty and malnutrition can affect the genes and limit the mental capacity of the offspring and their progeny for generations if not permanently. Somalia may have seemed like compassion but it was truly cruelty, not just for the people there but also for the world that will either perpetually care for them or have increased their burden by allowing people a brief period of comfort followed by a subsistence with no means of sustenance and no possibility of self reliance. Of course there are many more examples of our "kindness" to others.
