As you sate there would be no question of the winner of a conventional war. Was it "Failsafe" where we trade the utter destruction of New York in reparation for our accidentally destroying Moscow? It is not just Russia. Are you aware of the SCO? Russia and CHina have formes a military alliance. They manufacture arms together and have been selling subs to Iran and other arms in the region. Pakistan and India have been flirting with joining and the Russian subs that are on the way for "war games" are doing so with some Indian involvement I believe. Take on Russia alone and win? In a nuclear exchange no one wins. IN a conventional battle of course we win. Take on Russia, CHina, Iran, and maybe India also? Do you really think we could win?

MLSFOT...i dont Russia or any country in the world can take our military head on. But like Zeev mentionend in one of his earlier posts, they "sure would like to muddy the waters." Maybe thats what they are upto. I have a hunch the Russians and French wont give up their Iraq oil contracts up that easily.
