This is only Obama's plans, remember Quantanamo bay? As soon as the price catches up to the power producers, he will back down. Right now the power grid is pushed to the limits and cheap power is in demand and for now the answer is COAL. These other technologies such as wind and solar are still years, maybe decades away from taking the place of coal. Over the next decade we will be exporting more and more natural gas also that in turn is beginning to drive up the price for that too. What do we have left ? Coal !

My thoughts on the presidents policy are simple. When people get wind, get it, "wind", of how high their electric bills will go without the use of coal, his green policy will go poof. This admins number one goal is to get another Dem in office on the next go around. Nothings happening to coal in the short term or probably in the long run due to that factor alone. Hey I am all for clean air, water etc, but I ain't paying 1000 a month to cool my house. So I am not worried at all. The media can spin this any way they want to but coal's going nowhere. The market can react to it but in reality the market is only correct when the truth comes out. I don't hear any fat lady singing yet! By the way, what was the final verdict on global warming, oh that's right, the REAL findings were inconclusive!
