Cassandra - lawyers don't work for free and the money Handel is getting per month is used to support the litigation, they need to get paid.
If all EDIG could do is to raise 10K or as you say well below 100K per case - they would not be able to get representation - no one would take it...particularly in the IP litigation area...
Frivolous cases cost 150K...
Handle will get as much as possible out of every case, it's all about the money to them, like all other lawyers.
they will find a way to make the sum of the cases pay off - there may be one or two that aren't worth much, but that happens.
FYI, this is the reality of litigation.
Also, understand this is a very complex area of the law, and your quotations of case law and legal analysis don't appear to take that into consideration.
For example, you continue to cite the markman ruling, that was a very poorly written decision that the judge contradicted herself in several places. It will not affect EDIG very much, as we are seeing. I have an analysis if you would like to read it, i posted it immediately after the holding and have been proved correct on my analysis so far.
