I was initially involved in the "Free mumia abu Jamal" movement. However weak kneed white liberals screwed that movemnt up royally. Phil Ochs "love me, love me Im a liberal comes to mind. The case for Mumia's innocence was much greater than for Tookies. I have not kept up with Tookies case very well so I cannot comment on Tookie in an informed fashion. The politics immediately around it are a lot easier to see and understand. I agree with many of the so called liberal values but I seriously question how serious liberals are when they choose their battles so foolishly and squander so much political energy. They were not willing to take a harder stand with Mumia yet they want to make so much noise about Tookie. Go figure.
