... During the late 1800s, Penn State's football uniforms were charcoal and pink - the official school colors .... I can not imagine attending the "charcoal-and-pink" spring football game in a few weeks (now called the blue-white game) ...
... another unrelated thought ... in the late 1940s and early 1950s, I think it was pretty common to label so-called enemies of the U.S. as 'commies' first, and if that did not work, call them 'fags or queers' (much cruder labels at the time for gays) ... Nixon, McCarthy and others I believe were pretty effective at it.
