That's probably how the term 'pinko' originated.A communist being a 'red',therefore the term to describe gay communists as 'pinkos',I figure.Funny that three of the biggest 'red' bashers in US history,that being,Senator Joe McCarthy(he quickly married when rumors about his gay double life appeared),Roy Cohn(McCarthy's chief counsel/aid who died of AIDS),and Edgar J. Hoover(FBI dress-wearing director who recommended Cohn to McCarthy),were all gay.'Nuff American history.
