The public notice of sale would have been issued by the Cowlitz County Sheriff's office. I looked at their site and did some googling, but have not found the actual notice. I would imagine it was in the local papers, but too lazy to search, may get motivated later on.

In addition to keeping the county safe, the office also:
Processes civil papers for service
Handles concealed pistol license paperwork
Provides fingerprinting for county residents
Registers the county’s sex offenders


Based on the above, I would assume ML is well known to the department.
