Homebuilder Your comment about the science of inflammation not being accepted in the medical community --- is in my experience -- respectfully --just plain wrong.
I am able to correspond or talk to 4 different Cardiologists and all of them in general agree with JL's views . They all acknowledge the role of inflammation in causing heart attacks -- refering often to the process in how arterial plaques rupture resulting in constricted blood flow .... and certainly would not prescribe any drugs that raised inflammation .
The fact that Vascepa lowers inflammation is seen as a positive by all of them. They may not be willing to prescribe Vascepa yet solely on the basis of lowering inflammation ( until they see outcome studies ) but they do seem to accept the role that inflammation plays in heart disease. Akanz
