A better question is how much money is being taken out of functions that can be performed domestically???

We have plenty we can address here in the U.S., and I see no significant threat to our homeland...

IMHO...Our foreign policy has three major aims...

1. To protect the economic interests of the U.S. and the allies of the U.S.

2. To preserve the Petro dollar.

3. To reward the entities that donate a lot of money to political campaigns...

False!

Even IF Saddam had WMD's (which he did not at the time of our invasion), what would be the rationale for invading and occupying his sovereign nation? He never threatened us in any manner and Iraq had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11. I can think of several countries that have WMD's as we speak yet we aren't invading them. Why not?

As the lead UN Patsie, our planes were being used to police the UN Imposed No Fly Zone and Saddam's troops were shooting at(Attacking)our planes on a regular basis. In fact, by him having his troops firing on our planes, it was for all intents and purposes an act of war!

I think all of the threats made against US, the too many warnings from the UN and from US, along with his cruel treatment and slaughtering of his own people were justifiable reasons. Plus, while he was not a major terrorist training ground; he did in fact help finance and train terrorist; much of it through the illegal use of the funds from the Oil-for-Food program.
