As far as politicians actually doing any DD on who is behind this penny stock - I doubt it has been done.

I doubt they would either, but nowadays they're usually careful about lending their names to specific companies, as opposed to policies. That "endorsement" is pretty over the top. If nothing else, other companies--ones that haven't been named--are bound to be resentful.

That isn't good politics.
