MDLZ/PEP—Irene's the brains in this group. She had no problem handling Warren so I don't think Peltz will be any different. I trust she'll do what best for MDLZ and she'll come out on top.

Not sure what you mean by “coming out on top”—please clarify.

As a MDLZ shareholder, my kneejerk reaction when I heard talk of combining MDLZ and PEP was negative; I presumed any deal would be for PEP stock rather than cash and I didn’t want my ownership stake to be diluted by PEP’s weak beverage business. However, Peltz’s merger plan evidently includes divesting PEP’s beverage business, so my concern was unfounded.

Peltz also disclosed a $1.4B stake in PEP and wants to merge the two companies, as previously reported.
