Dew...
I have a lot of respect for you, but please do not lecture me on my own specialty...There is simply no way to do what you are suggesting at least not in cosmetic surgery. I have patients who say their Botox lasts over a year and others are back in six weeks complaining its worn off...Some of this could be due to anatomical differences in the corregator region...In some individuals, the lower portion of the corregator is innervated by facial nerve branches that approach the muscle inferiorily along the naso-orbital junction..This has been shown using the recently introduced technique of ablating the facial branches to the corregator muscle using radio frequency probes...Other anatomical factors such as greater or lesser involvement of the obicularis occuli in squinting can effect the duration of these B-toxin drugs...But in reality the time differences usually just represent the difference between patients subjective interpretations.
I just can not imagine the women who get Botox having any interest in playing these games...and I flat out do trust the drug companies in these studies where no disease is on the line...
The introduction of a new Botox is a good thing if you are a clinical cosmetic surgeon...When Dysport hit the market the Dysport Rep handed out vials and vials of Dysport...Threw parties, the works...Thats how they get new customers, not by saying the stuff last longer...We been hearing that BS since Collagen first showed up...A vial of Dysport gives treatment to 6 areas..at $375 an area, that's like someone giving you $2200, and there was many more than one vial handed out...
So I will hold my nose and let the J&J rep come and see me...We all have our price...Once the free stuff runs out...That's it for J&J..
