"Question: Where did that excessive heat come from?"

I've read studies that say the temperatures genrated by the burning jet fuel were between 500 F & 1000 F. Thermite function in the 5000F range.

What the conspiracy theorists don't factor in, is that thermite is always concentrated in a very narror area. It's isn't used to blow stuff up. It's used to melt metals. When cutting, say a structurl support, it is wraped around the support and ignited.

One of the very desireable charcteristic of thermite is that it cuts so fast that heat isn't transfered far for the cutting area. Called the "Heat Affected Zone"

The bent beam, shown in the video is bent a several; feet from eaxch end.

it operates by exposing a very small area of metal to extremely high temperatures. Intense heat focused on a small spot can be used to cut through metal or weld metal components together both by melting metal from the components---

Do the Conspiracy Loons and their believers (you know who you are) think the basemant of the Towers and Bldg 7 were made into thermite baths? Of course not! If thermite had been used, it would have been in a small area. You could probaly put you hand on a piece of steel that had been cut by thermite 10 feet from the cut in a matter of minutes.

All of the 9/11 Conspiracy Theories that I know of say Thermite is what brought down the buildings.

Another question: What forces could have been exerted on that beam in the video if it was heated to 750 F and a 110 foot tall building fell on it?

A correction to something I said in an earlier post. I said that a 767 carries 23,000 gallons of fuel. That's true for its' maximim range of 7000 miles. A trip from Boston to LA would probably require a load of from 7000 - 10,000 gallons.
