>>Seems that indentifying said stocks could provide profitable trading opportunities.<<

Speaking for myself I would say it's a mixed bag. Those stocks can reverse as quickly as they go up. I find it best to step aside. Since the PPT tends to step in when you think the market should be go the other way by everything else you look at then it's hard to know when to get on. AS I have mentioned, I watch the tick. These programs execute in usually 60 seconds or less. Lately many have been reversing just as quick as these programs are not stirring up additional buyers. My experience has been if I do catch one of these waves I take profits quick if the tick reverses. Often I get out and another buy program will hit not allowing me enough pullback for me to see a reward for the risk of another trade as lately these moves have been straight up ignoring resistance levels. The favorite ones to push do appear to cycle from one to another some what. INTC is a good one because it's in the Nas, DOW and S&P.

Good trading, Joe

renshen....

Some stocks are almost always involved - INTC, CSCO, MSFT, AMAT and recently KLAC. Others are sometimes used but not with the same volume, like IBM, while others get used when DJ type stocks are targeted, like GM.

I have been using the PPT's tendencies to help trading for some time now, as you suggest, and recently have found watching the PPT has been far more useful than watching my charts or fundamentals. I frequently see jam jobs coming by always watching the $USD and gold since they frequently ramp the dollar and tamp gold when they are ready to put on a big jam session. As a general rule, I rarely short PPT type stocks, but do trade them on the long side. Where I have most frequently erred in my own personal trading is that I have often underestimated their ability and willingness to continue ramping the markets once they have broken the back of a selloff.

Good luck to you.
