some more "facts" that mlsoft believes were "created" just about 12k years ago -- why, oh why do these pseudo scientists persist with these fruitless efforts to explain the universe when everything is so clearly explained in Genesis

Young Stars of NGC 346
Credit: Antonella Nota (ESA/STScI) et al., ESA, NASA
Explanation: Star cluster NGC 346 is embedded in the largest star forming region in the Small Magellanic Cloud, some 210,000 light-years distant. The massive stars of NGC 346 are short lived, but very energetic. Their winds and radiation sweep out an interstellar cavern in the gas and dust cloud about 200 light-years across, triggering star formation and sculpting the region's dense inner edge. Cataloged as N66, the star forming region also appears to contain a large population of infant stars. A mere 3 to 5 million years old and not yet burning hydrogen in their cores, the infant stars are strewn about the embedded star cluster. In the false-color Hubble Space Telescope image, visible and near-infrared light are seen as blue and green, while light from atomic hydrogen emission is red.

Tomorrow's picture: The answer to life, the universe, and everything ...

[the suspense about tomorrow will just about kill all of us except for mlsoft -- he knows the answer -- its in the bible]

"so you and your fellow believers can live happily with the "fact" that the big G created the universe and every thing in it in seven days about 12k years ago and thats a given not to be questioned"
===============================================================

hap...

That is true -- we believe different things, and that is ok. You believe the earth is millions of years old and that we evolved from nothing into what we see around us by mere chance. I believe the Bible. I believe the universe, the earth, and all that is in them were created by God in six days. I do not know how long ago that occurred, but suspect it was not more than 10-15,000 years ago and quite possibly less than that -- but certainly not millions of years. You base your set of "facts" on science, I base mine on the Word of God but both of us consider our beliefs to be facts. Neither of us can prove our position to the satisfaction of the other, so neither of us will change the mind of the other.

If the Bible is correct, we will instantly know the real truth of the matter as soon as we die, but by then it will not matter, for our lives here on earth will be over and we will be beginning our eternal existence, either with God or apart from Him. Who was right about how old the earth is will not matter at all.
