It's possible that Apple will innovate on the platform like they did with iPad. What if it's an upgrade from an iPad instead of a downgrade from a MacBook?

Maybe they'll develop the iPad mini-mega-micro-max. That's about all the "innovation" I expect from them these days.

You conveniently seem to forget that rule when talking about Intel phones and tablets.

Apple can offer innovations at the platform level.
It's not just about the CPU.

And you conveniently seem to forget that Apple is losing share to vendors in the Android ecosystem who don't have the same vertical stack as Apple.
