Zen...you´re right.

From Waves PR:

http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/051114/20051114005164.html?.v=1

"ST was the first to supply integrated TCG 1.2 compatible TPM chips, evaluated to Common Criteria EAL4+, of which more than 4 million have been delivered to major PC/motherboard manufacturers."

Zen & Doma, it's now "more than 4 million"...

that have been "delivered to major PC/motherboard manufacturers", based on STM's quote within the Wave CARTES press release from yesterday. (EDIT: as, I now see, ISPRO already posted!)

with speedy inventory clearing in the PC industry, these should be on customer's desks in relatively quick order.

Re: 3.5MM shipped:

The computer industry (like most manufacturers) doesn't like to keep much inventory on hand. When components are shipped, its generally because they are going to be used almost immediately. I doubt there's much more than a 45 day lag between chips being shipped and those same chips being put on a motherboard and sold, even accounting for the three week sea voyage. I know from experience that this is true for harddrive manufacturers and the components that they buy, and I assume its the same for motherboard manufacturers.
