Good observation. It's possible they shut down during New Year celebration just, like US companies, during Christmas break. This may be bad timing against the Chinese calender on our part. I will confirm with our Chinese contact about culture schedule for New Year behavior prior to arraigning visit. The visit would not yield valid results if our guy showed up and made the wrong assumption because the whole company was out celebrating. This could also be the reason the chats are down. Although, broken links during shutdown aren't what was expected but hey, we don't understand their culture or the company.
I will check this out and proceed accordingly. The face-to-face visit is the right way to go at the right time.
