"Mlsoft, read by human persons, everything is subjective including Scripture. And it is not for you or I to place value judgement on the religious beliefs or Scriptural interpretations of others."

harry...

As I have said many times here in the past, you are correct that some things in Scripture are hard to understand and subject to various interpretations of varying legitimacy. Eschatology (the doctrines of future things) is such an area where true believing Christian brothers often disagree yet such disagreements are not a reason to break fellowship.

Many areas of Scripture are very clear, though, leaving the reader only the choice of accepting or rejecting what is taught -- one may try to hide behind the cloak of "interpretation", but the truth of the matter is that "interpretation" has nothing to do with it. If the person opts to reject the clear teaching of Scripture, substituting their own human "wisdom" to that of God, then they are rebelling against God.

When that happens in important core doctrines such as soteriology (salvation) and the doctrines of God, the Trinity, or the person of Jesus, then one has to question whether that such a person is truly a Christian or is he simply trying to fool others (or often fooling himself) about his Christianity. Only God knows the answer to that question.

I should point out that we are not to judge unbelievers, only those that claim to be believers -- unbelievers are not expected to follow God's commands or understand the doctrines of God. That is one reason Christianity can never be imposed on another individual or group.

Agreed. And well said.
