He believes that he and his should be able to vote to alter a school curriculum to disdain science and incorporate religion... I'm sorry. Make that "his" religion.

He is offended that schools teach children about health issues. I'm sorry... about sex. He believes in his right to change it.

He believes that our friends and neighbors who are gay are condemned by his loving god, unless they somehow become something else, and that they shouldn't have rights under the law the way you or I do.

He believes that secular schools, secular holidays and secular town squares are an assault on his religion, but making them places to celebrate religion... sorry make that "his" religion, is OK, and is not an assault on my freedom, even though I am forced to pay for those places, and can only use them under the auspices of his religion.

He believes that women should have no right to choose in matters of reproduction, other than to abstain from sex or incubate the children we tell them to.

He believes that people who have sex outside of marriage are condemned by his loving god. Unless we repent and don't do that any more of course...

I don't mind his beliefs. I mind his contention that he can make me live under them if he gets enough votes.

This country wasn't set up so that everyone would have to live as the majority decides in matters of religion. That is specifically why the founders separated church from state. It is the protection of the minority point of view (read that "my point of view") that makes us free. Practice your religion at home. Put up a manger or the ten commandments on your lawn. The public square belongs to all of us. It is not for your exclusive use at my expense.

I'm sorry you don't get this, but we're in a war for the soul of our society and our democracy, with a politically active and well organized christofascist movement which has every intention of making this country a theocracy. They have won many battles already. They need to be stopped.

Hey, you got your battles. I got mine.

*** It's funny. I was working for a religious social services outfit today. Some of my best friends are religious. (Ok, some are religious pagans, but there are christians too) I don't discriminate. It's the pushy ones that get my back up... childhood trauma you know. I think I explained it here once.
