Looking through the SEDAR Bandera there was mention of the amount of money they sunk into the project. I suspect they are looking for a return on the investment they made in the properties. thus the leans on the properties.
Bandera has been attacked from the get go here and on multiple other boards and blogs - I assume they are trying to protect THEIR investment as well.

it will be years before any one figures out who the real owners are. And as I have pointed out from the get go - doesn't make a difference - the fact is those mines are bing used as a pump and dump share selling scheme.

Marauding locals were undoubtedly the culprits. People do that stuff all over the world. Copper wire and cables are worth money, and in a poor area, that's important.

Yes, Bandera wants it back because they think it'll be a money maker. They haven't said how much money they think it's worth, though, because only minimal exploration has been done. They did make an investment in infrastructure, so it's scarcely unreasonable of them to hope to regain control.

And given the title dispute, I don't think anyone with good sense will be interested in buying right now.
