Today's Senate hearing should have been an embarrassment for the NRA and gun lovers - 2 of the reps the NRA sent, Wayne LaPierre and a young mom, were the worst spokespeople the NRA could find while the 3rd person, a guy from the CATO INSTITUTE, the David Koch-funded organization, to nobody's surprise doesn't want the gov't controlling guns at all.
Wayne LaPierre continues to appear not very bright and it amazes me anyone would follow him/support his organization. The young women defending guns for all was very weak - she repeated the story of the young mom who successfully fought off a home intruder because she had a gun, but didn't have her facts straight - Sen Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) had to remind her the gun used in that episode was a legal weapon, NOT one included in today's discussion.
Given the NRA is funded to the tune of $40 million from the gun industry, you'd think they could find intelligent-sounding people.

I'm certainly not a gun nut. I don't even own one, but I'm really surprised at you. Aren't you a staunch supporter of the Constitution or do I have it wrong and you want it to be constantly changing?
