I'm thinking that wireless operators like Cingular and the others have to be looking for a way to offer their customers the same level of broadband service the WLAN crowd is planning to deploy. IDCC saw that need a long time ago, and invented WTDD.
Nokia jumped all over that concept and got access to use it royalty free for something like a $58 million development fee.
Problem now is that apparently Nokia decided to sit on it until IDCC agreed to accept chump change for the rest of their IPR! Bad boys!
