You are right, no one owes anyone anything. I owe no loyalty to the company and they owe me none. However, it is about success of the offering and ultimately success of the business. To me it's quite simple, the prospect of overall success of the offering is increased if we know our individual risks are reduced. If the people with the deepest pockets and with the most to lose have our backs in this offering it would make decisions a bit easier. Otherwise, why take the risk only to find out that those with the most participated the least or not at all. As you said, it's not personal it's only business.
