Warp, I think that was a smart move getting out of Globalstar.
About a year or two ago, someone on this board said he/she had a position in GSAT, so I took a closer look at the company. I didn't like what I saw. The enormous debt load was the biggest turn-off. I can see a path toward profitably for the company, but so many things have to fall into place for that to happen, including lots and lots of additional funding. The risk was much too high for me. And I can't believe I'm saying this, but the risk was astronomical in comparison to WSGI. I see a much clearer path toward profitably for WSGI. Even if the stratellite and sat-telecom network don't become a reality, I think if they can just start selling the BiB and Argus, they'll be well on their way to substantially reducing their debt. What's always attracted me to WSGI is the strategy to offer products and services which are significantly more cost-effective than what's currently on the market. GSAT reminds me more of a Verizon or AT&T, only GSAT is a satellite-based network. Yes, the vision is to eventually offer a low-cost alternative to Verizon and AT&T using ground stations, but they have to clear a lot of hurtles before that can happen. Of course, I hope Globalstar is successful since they're a close GTC partner.
As for WSGI's 2012 aerostat revenues, are you convinced that they must make an announcement before the end of the year? Or could this revenue simply show up in the 4th quarter 10-Q? If WSGI is going to make any public announcement about it, I would think that it would have to be this week. I can't imagine them doing it between Christmas and New Years. My take is that they have to deliver on these revenues in order to restore some sense of credibility to the company. Indy singled out Clark on not being able to deliver because he didn't understand the technical aspects because he's a Wall Street guy, but Phipps is just as guilty. He's supposedly a tech guy, and he hasn't delivered either. So when he tells WildWest, "...2013 is a good year for all of us", it's Deja Vu all over again, because that's what they were telling us a year ago about 2012. Will someone please stop the madness???
