The USMil uses proprietary sat trackers in the Afghan TOO. It is public knowledge that the FedGov (ICE) has used Eastcor proprietary sat trackers. Some tracker tech and even ground equipment/installations are black budget and should not be discussed IMO.
My boss was NATO staff in Afghanistan under a Turkish general but most of his career he was a Special Ops Capable Marine infantry officer. So he saw MAV's and sat tracker tech early and up close and personal.
Just got informed that GTC is upgrading their sat tracker interface. The interface you saw for the Ecker race is being revamped and updated. I will get new login and passwords and then be in the new interface. I will give you a report then. Maybe a screen shot if I can figure out how to do it. Thanks again, RW for the DD on GTC.
