I believe that Mountain Lion was at 10% after five weeks. OS uptake on Apple products is very fast. iOS 6 was much, much faster.

I think that Windows 7 uptake was fast too but only because Vista was so bad.

Microsoft appears to be really ramming Win 8 hard down the
throat of consumers. I went shopping for a laptop today for
my wife and all IVB models had Win 8. What's really weird
is it appears that older SNB models that had Win 7 on them
are being reloaded locally with Win 8. If you agree to go with
Win 8 on an older model instead of Win 7 you get a roughly
15% discount.
