Pretty stoked dude:) I got my first legit response from my efforts to find work in North Dakota. I came in with a unusual aproach. Because my story is unusual. I was (am still:) a rockstar of the log home world. was self made, and nation wide by age 22. Worked right up to building for tycoons. With wild growth came instability, and the market dropped out from under me. And nobody told me it was coming. Anyways. I was in my basement cleaning a while back. I'm looking at my row of saws on the shelf. my giant pile of power tools. Some of which were a big part of my life. Saved, invested in them. Then worked side by side learning a new skill with them. And now they sit on a shelf. I thought , it doesnt matter how good a tool is now if it is sitting on the shelf. Then I realized i am a metaphorical tool. :) Sitting on the damn shelf...
Im dusting off those tools. wrapping up some loose ends. and heading out in a few weeks. MAN! i hope i get my asking price from this dude. In certain situations i can make my great wage, and cut out 3 times that wage in sub-contracts. And at the same time they got the master doing it with his own hands to plans, rather than a contractor sending out his flunky and the misfit out, so the flunky can sit and watch the misfit mess it up:)chaching heres the bill for 3 guys. Sounds crazy but thats literally how it is. so to the big generals who are building a big complicated house. To have a guy like me watching and micro-managing every aspect, and keeping the mistakes from happening in the first place. All while doing all the complicated stuff that stalls people out. That compared to a poorly run job that hemorages money on a daily basis and runs twice as long as planned... It makes my wage for the quick job seem like nothing... I know this:) But try convincing someone of that. lol anyways. When the right guy reads the right thing, it clicks. They say THATS what i need! and it works great for everybody.
Anyways. big developments on that front. Got my dads camper to use. Got a positive response already... pretty stoked:)
