Zen

From the 2nd Q CC: (Thanks Unclevername)

"We're very aggressive in our support for Microsoft's new OS. And it's very important that we support Windows XP as well, so that someone who has a mixed environment, new operating systems as well as the existing operating system shipping today can feel confident that if they deploy Wave's tools today that we will support the new operating system in a manner that they can take advantage of the Trusted Computing capabilities in a mixed environment without having to upgrade all their machines immediately to a new OS."

"Microsoft also announced their plans to have Trusted Platform Module version 1.2 as part of logo compliance for what was called Longhorn Operating system is now called Vista and that clearly is a tremendous driver for this marketplace. In essence, if you're a PC manufacturer and you're building machines and you want the logo compliance sticker for business machines then you need to have a Trusted Platform Module version 1.2 as part of the architecture of your PC. And this really is a tremendous motivation to all the PC manufacturers on a worldwide basis to include this technology as part of their machines."

"A couple of comments about Microsoft's Vista. They are clearly driving the market [with] their requirement that a Trusted Platform Module be part of their Secure Start capability. They've shipped their beta program at this point. People can see the functionality that a TPM offers in the box.

We really think that the first versions of our tools are really strong application to support this, especially in the key management area. It's very important that our applications interoperate with what Microsoft provides. They're providing very limited functionality in the first versions of their system and we think that a number of the tools that we provide really augment that value in the box. We'll continue to support this in a very strong way. We're very aggressive in our support for Microsoft's new OS. And it's very important that we support Windows XP as well, so that someone who has a mixed environment, new operating systems as well as the existing operating system shipping today can feel confident that if they deploy Wave's tools today that we will support the new operating system in a manner that they can take advantage of the Trusted Computing capabilities in a mixed environment without having to upgrade all their machines immediately to a new OS. Which clearly is how business adopts new operating systems. We all end up with mixed environments in our companies.
