A Pennsylvania judge blocked the state’s voter-identification law from taking effect in time for the November election.
Commonwealth Court Judge Robert Simpson said he wasn’t convinced that the measure requiring voters to show a photo ID at polls wouldn’t keep some people from voting.
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court had ordered Judge Simpson to block the law unless he determined that there would be no voter disenfranchisement and that new state voter IDs were easy to obtain.
