Lugar 'Wholeheartedly' Endorses Brown

At Monday's debate in Lowell, Massachusetts, Democratic Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren was asked to name a Republican senator she would work with if she's elected. Warren answered by saying Richard Lugar, the senior and outgoing Republican from Indiana. Debate moderator David Gregory informed Warren that Lugar would not be in the Senate next year and asked again for a Republican senator "who will be there" with whom she would work. Warren was unable to name another Republican.
Lugar, who was defeated in his Republican primary in May by Richard Mourdock, has just announced his endorsement of Warren's GOP opponent, Scott Brown. Here's Lugar's statement:
My friend, Scott Brown, since becoming a United States Senator has worked hard to reach across the aisle. In just two and a half years, he has established himself as a Senate leader who can be counted upon to rise above partisanship and do the right thing. As an example, in order to confirm the START nuclear arms control treaty with Russia, Scott approached the issue with an open mind and announced his support for the Treaty at a critical moment, leading the way toward bipartisan ratification. We need Senators like Scott Brown in the U.S. Senate, and I wholeheartedly endorse him.
