I have to respectfully disagree with you here. I think the diagnostic can stand on its own, irrespective of the EC45 results. Of course, a positive recommendation for EC45 helps the diagnostic, but is not necessary for its approval, IMO.

What will the diagnostic be used for if the drug isn't approved? Are there other drugs specifically targeting folate receptor++ patients wherein there will be a use for such a diagnostic?

Separately, I listened to ECYT's recent presentation at Morgan Stanley and they claim that their follow-on drug targeting folate receptor in oncology indications, EC0531, that is set to enter the clinic soon, is 25x more potent than EC145 (vintafolide). Will be interesting to see the early results in the clinic IMHO.
