Thanks for the info on the new drug for ECYT, McBio. I thought EC145 was extremely potent. I hope ECYT has a great linker technology; I'd hate to see this potent a drug released not where it is supposed to be released.

Wasn't the EU filing supposed to be by the end of the 3rd quarter. Maybe I got that wrong.

I believe there are other companies targeting the folate receptor. I'm sure jq1234 or Peter knows.

ECYT -

they claim that their follow-on drug targeting folate receptor in oncology indications, EC0531, that is set to enter the clinic soon, is 25x more potent than EC145 (vintafolide).

Yet again my pet peeve - once a drug gets reasonable efficacy with tolerable sized pills or subq injection or ... then further potency is generally of little importance. Comparative specificity, pk, ... are much more meaningful since they indicate potential improvement of efficacy vs toxicity - but much more difficult to accurately characterize pre-clinically and so there are a ton of PRs touting a statistic that sounds cool but means little. FWIW In practice I count such touting as a strike against a company because it either indicates sloppy understanding or a hyping attitude.
