I'm a paid subscriber so making it a premium thread would not affect me, but I prefer the Zeev threads remain in the free zone.

We could ask Matt to boot them, but that's a distasteful option.

I think the best solution would be a board co-manager (or whatever it's called) empowered to delete posts by either one, as soon as they appear. Of course, that raises the problem of finding someone with the time, interest and energy to do it.

Hi Zeev
In regards to the issue of cousin "Zigi" and syl, You always will have this kind of people that obviously the vacuum is instead of grey material and that vacuum was taken out of balance at a certain period of time in their life. I myself disregard them and sometimes I read it because of other people response to them (ik70). Disregard them they are in a lot of pain and can not even feel it..
Take care

Zeev, Tho I agree, zigi's comments were totally offensive, I think we need to define what offensive is in regard to "hate" or bias. I don't think zigi and sly are the only two have made offensive statements.

Take homosexuality for example.... There were several comments or sentiments expressed here that would be very offensive to homosexuals. The fact is, for reasons not fully understood, a certain percentage of the population is gay. To say their lifestyle is an abomination and offensive to God would tend to be very offensive to that segment of the population. And who among us claims to speak for God???... I know, the Evangelical version of the NT, etc. But that is only one perspective on "God".... Ultra-orthodox could use the Bible to claim our lifestyles are an abomination too!

As for the issue of "saved", ie "believe" or go to Hell, posted over and over.... Jews don't believe in the divinity of Jesus. But "believe" or go to "HELL!!" is not offensive??.. Those who don't "believe" go to "HELL!!" is not the highest form of bigotry??..

"Coat hangers" was a classic in the disgusting ignoramus department too!!.. To say you hope women find better methods than coat hangers, is not grossly offensive, and disgusting?.... This is a "Christian" sentiment?..

On the issue of children with disabilities, and the handicapped, to say this is a result of "sin", like 3 "legged frogs" is not grossly offensive, thoroughly ignorant, and disgusting??...Children!!.. I'm offended (per my previous PM) tho I am greatly Blessed.....

The issue then becomes how do we define "hate rhetoric" and that which is offensive..... Imo, much of the above is offensive, and could be considered "hate"... Antisemitism is not the only form of hate....

As to Dobson and "Focus on Family", it was my understanding that he was involved in the Sheppard protest. This, from the Couric interview with Dobson - which resulted in a lawsuit and most links regarding the interview are - "404" not found on the internet. But regardless, Dobson was involved in the anti-gay ("find Jesus and be cured") ad campaign with Robertson's Christian Coalition, and other right-wing so-called Christian organizations. And a rise in violence against gays followed those ads. Many believe the antigay rhetoric preached in "Churches" and by groups like "Focus", and the ad campaign contributed to the sentiment that caused the violence against, and death of Sheppard, and violence against others. LIke I said, many orthodox believe we live a sinful life. An abomination? Do they take out ads anti-our lifestyles? Are we an abomination??...

I think if we are going to object to bias, and hate, it should be across the board, and not limited to antisemitic remarks. "Hate" comes in many forms. When cloaked in "religion" it tends to be most dangerous, and despicable.....

Just my $.02 cents.....
