Im sitting in a room of prior military bomb techs. The XM25 is replacing the 40mm round currently fired out of a m203. 40mm rounds are fired in the millions every year just for qualifications and training. I have personally disposed of 10k of rounds in one day. The round will also be fired out of a Crew Serve Weapon which is a vehicle mount system. We would fire around 25 to 50 depending on how many people were doing training that day during my active duty. This is huge. What scares me is the Milspec requirements. From what I have read on this board about prior Lqmt manufacturing its not solid. I wonder who is currently making these liquid metal S&A slide? Its a huge contract.
