The Mandelbrot set is a mathematical set of points whose boundary is a distinctive and easily recognizable two-dimensional fractal shape. The set is closely related to Julia sets (which include similarly complex shapes), and is named after the mathematician Benoît Mandelbrot, who studied and popularized it.
More precisely, the Mandelbrot set is the set of values of c in the complex plane for which the orbit of 0 under iteration of the complex quadratic polynomial zn+1 = zn2 + c remains bounded. That is, a complex number c is part of the Mandelbrot set if, when starting with z0 = 0 and applying the iteration repeatedly, the absolute value of zn remains bounded however large n gets. .. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandelbrot_set .. GULP, too late .. LOL .. :)
Best fractals zoom ever
A fractal is a mathematical set that has a fractal dimension that usually exceeds its topological dimension and may fall between the integers. Fractals are typically self-similar patterns, where self-similar means they are "the same from near as from far" Fractals may be exactly the same at every scale, or as illustrated in Figure 1, they may be nearly the same at different scales. The definition of fractal goes beyond self-similarity per se to exclude trivial self-similarity and include the idea of a detailed pattern repeating itself. .. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fractal
Google Earth shows phallic-looking church in Dixon, USA

Here's the church, in all its morning glory. Source: NewsComAu
A CHRISTIAN Science society in the US has exposed itself to ridicule by building a church that looks suspiciously like a penis.
The church, which is appropriately located in a city called Dixon, looks innocent enough at ground level. But fire up Google Maps and the terrible, unholy truth becomes clear.
Today the church responded to these unwelcome Revelations, assuring the world there would be a "giant fig leaf coming soon" on its Facebook page .. https://www.facebook.com/ChristianScienceDixon .
Sadly, the unfortunate slogan "Rising Up" is also plastered across that page.
It looks OK on the ground, but they might want to rethink the “Rising Up” slogan. Pic: Facebook Source: NewsComAu
A lot of things look more interesting from above. Even things that aren't shaped like genitalia. Here are some more crazy images from Google Earth:

Aww, this tiny island is shaped like a heart. It’s called Galesnjak. Source: NewsComAu
Yes, there’s a car parked halfway up that wall. Don’t worry, it’s art. This is in Westenbergstraat. Source: NewsComAu

Where’s Wally? Well, it’s actually kind of obvious. Canadian artist Melanie Coles built this image in Vancouver. Source: NewsComAu

Google Earth reveals phallic-shaped skatepark in Porthcawl, South Wales

GOOGLE Earth can be a pretty handy little navigation tool. And it’s also good for a giggle when you stumble across something like this, um, skate park.
A Google user in Britain stumbled upon an image of A skate park which from the air resembles a giant willy.
The park in Porthcawl, South Wales, has been described as a great facility by the local council and its creators, Maverick, insist the park is a commonly used design, MailOnline reported.
Google user Gareth Bishop noticed the design and posted the picture online.
And it wouldn’t be the first time Google Earth has picked up a phallic image.
From the ground, the church in Dixon, looks innocent enough but from the air looks like a far more interesting building as this Google Earth image shows.

Does the fact that article was 2nd to Google News in a Google News search mean the Google computer search function (did i get that anywhere right?) has finally realized that sex does sell?
