Google Earth shows phallic-looking church in Dixon, USA

October 30, 2013

Here's the church, in all its morning glory. Source: NewsComAu

A CHRISTIAN Science society in the US has exposed itself to ridicule by building a church that looks suspiciously like a penis.

The church, which is appropriately located in a city called Dixon, looks innocent enough at ground level. But fire up Google Maps and the terrible, unholy truth becomes clear.

Today the church responded to these unwelcome Revelations, assuring the world there would be a "giant fig leaf coming soon" on its Facebook page .. https://www.facebook.com/ChristianScienceDixon .

Sadly, the unfortunate slogan "Rising Up" is also plastered across that page.

It looks OK on the ground, but they might want to rethink the “Rising Up” slogan. Pic:

A lot of things look more interesting from above. Even things that aren't shaped like genitalia. Here are some more crazy images from Google Earth:

This man-shaped lake is in Brazil. It’s fairly, err, detailed. Source: NewsComAu

Aww, this tiny island is shaped like a heart. It’s called Galesnjak. Source: NewsComAu

Yes, there’s a car parked halfway up that wall. Don’t worry, it’s art. This is in Westenbergstraat.

The Osmington White Horse can be found in the UK, carved into the white chalk of a hillside.

Where’s Wally? Well, it’s actually kind of obvious. Canadian artist Melanie Coles built this

NOTE: Yes, we realise this story doesn't fit the traditional definition of "hard" news.

It was Plato who said, “He, O men, is the wisest, who like Socrates, knows that his wisdom is in truth worth nothing”
