#39228 RE: spokeshave #39225

Pardon me for jumping in here, but aren't we still comparing apples to oranges??? Ikanos is a private company with a chipset in the marketplace already and all the verifiable data to go along with it. Rim, as we all know too painfully well, is a public company that is in the process of developing ( I Hope)a marketable chipset, that they think is going to be top notch potential, but as we all know, that potential doesn't mean squat unless the company is able and/or willing to divulge verifiable data. We aren't there yet and it's apparent that up to this point, Rim's ducks have not been in a row to the point of attracting more suitable funding. Each company has its' own particular unique set of circumstances. Just because the 2 companies are potentially sharing the same market space doesn't mean there are direct parallels between them, and this is particularly true when the discussion pertains to VC funding. Nothing about this discussion really offers any verifiable proof as to whether Rim is going to be successful in marketing a groundbreaking tech. We all can point to circumstantial evidence all day long to support one position or the other. The risk is still there and we are just going to have to wait and see (I put that last sentence in there just for Lycus.)Thanks for letting me chime in.
