SNTA -

Does this mean that Ganes is stopping the mets from forming? Is this true of other drugs you've looked at?

That is what he is saying. But without the actual data it is hard to say how strong this data is.

As for 'do other drugs do this'? None of the drug developments I've watched have ever reported on this (even when I think it is the obvious thing to report on) - but I suspect that somewhere there is some data on this for other drugs.

Finally note that I consider this data supportive of the OS vs PFS difference in overall adeno (I actually posted on the possible benefit of hsp90 inhibitors in preventing mets). But only supportive (in the sense that when predicted MOAs align with clinical data they are mutually supporting) and not entirely separately risk reducing.

SNTA - interesting paper that concludes progression caused by new mets is a much stronger predictor of OS than is tumor growth or tumor burden:

http://www.asco.org/ASCOv2/Meetings/Abstracts?&vmview=abst_detail_view&confID=114&abstractID=98817

Note:

1) The effect appears in both CRC and in NSCLC - but looks stronger in NSCLC.

2) Obviously I consider this exploratory - but interesting enough to post here -g-.
