That must be what's wrong with my maters too. None of them got anywhere near the size they were supposed to be. And even though the first few were mushy...the Romas turned out really good.

We FINALLY got some rain! Rained pretty-good for 40 minutes, then came and went most of the night... Ground got good and soaked.
Hard rain beat-up a few plants but I think they'll be OK. The worst-off were the eggplants with bigger fruit, nearly laid them over. I spent 3 hours pulling weeds. (The soil soft enough the roots come out)...made a couple zuchinni-breads, and have a chicken in the pot for mure chicken 'n dumplings...Whew!
(Got about a bushel of cukes, zuchinni, eggplants and a few peppers picked for the daughter to take home tomorrow)
...time to rest a bit now, b-4 finishing the dumplings.
