Another problem with the heat. My eleven Cherokees should be getting much bigger; they aren't small tomatoes. But since the heat struck, their growth has slowed down a lot. One began ripening a few days ago, and it's smaller than fist-sized. I picked it. It'll be ready in about five days, I think. Same thing happened with one of the Brandywines. I think it'll be ripe in a couple of days. Takes longer than you might imagine, though.

NOTHING will be right until this damned heat stops.

Except for the peppas, which as you say don't mind. Though even they tend to drop blossoms in extreme temperatures.

My purple jalapeños just aren't HOT enough. Next year I'll have to go back to my reliable Early Jalapeño.
