No doubt they are killing off any bio activity to kill any chance of it going anaerobic, or of it setting off sulfur reducing bacteria, that leads to real odor and rapid corrosion.
The ozone can also aid flocculation acting as a polymerizing agent, and detackify any sticky junk in the water that could plug up the pores in a well when the water is re-injected back down a well (I actually patented using ozone in 2000 for detackify.....).
The difference between detackifying and polymerizing is controlled by the dose rate.

I have not looked real deep into this one, been watching it for 2 years, and stayed away due to the high market cap, low stockholders equity, and no profits yet, but they do have sales, and revenue. I also have not completely dug into their patent yet, but I did scan it 2 years ago, but 98% of it seems to be old school, they just added ultrasonics as the kitchen sink to a string of other stuff, including a centrifuge and ozone.....
The key here is the unique industry (fracking) waste water contaminates, BARIUM for one, that the POTWs can not handle!!!!
