i agree with everything you just said. when it comes to the steel industry specifically the hope is that china can successfully engineer a transition to more efficient production. the excess capacity will be there until small mills close, and this does skew true demand for raw material near term - i just wanted to point out that in the long run the switch to larger blast furnaces benefits producers of high grade ore (many on this board myself included have positions in larger miners that are positioned to expoit this transition)
