All this is water under the bridge, though. If it was up to me, I would carve a piece of Northern Iraq, a piece of southeastern Turkey and a peace of Northwestern Iran (all largely populated by ethnic Kurds) and create Kurdistan. Unfortunately, this is not very realistic now. Now we have to deal with the current realities in the area and do the best that can be done.
The time to have done this with moral authority would have been after Saddam gassed the kurds. Why did we not go into Iraq during the peace cycle of the economy and instead invade the years later with immoral authority during the War Cycle?
